Asahi Takano

Asahi is a Partner at Portas Consulting, the global management consultancy dedicated to sport and physical activity. 

He currently leads Portas’ data analytics-based advisory work, runs the Active Citizen Worldwide programme, and will imminently be taking up a position as Head of Portas’ Asia-Pacific Office.  

He has served numerous Sports Ministries, sports federations and city governments, working on strategies and operating models to increase participation and health-related outcomes.  

Asahi has over 15 years’ experience in international public policy and consulting, having previously held positions at McKinsey & Co., the United Nations and the UK NHS.  

He has also spent a number of years as an Advisor to former Prime Minister Tony Blair, leading the work in Asia for Tony Blair Associates Government Advisory. 

He holds a M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from University of Oxford and a Masters in International Relations from University of Bristol.
