Iris Cordoba

Position: Managing Director at GSIC

Born in Buenos Aires, Iris holds a Law Degree from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master’s Degree in Administration and Public Policy from the INAP-University of Alcalá, and a Master’s Degree in Digital Economics from the School of Industrial Organization. Additionally, she completed the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management in 2020.

She has built a distinguished professional career focused on promoting entrepreneurship and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises from a public-private perspective. She has worked across Latin America, Europe, and APAC, where she led the establishment of the GSIC office in Singapore, with a particular focus on cultural industries, the Spanish economy, and the sports and entertainment sectors.

Since 2015, she has been leading the GSIC powered by Microsoft, a collaborative initiative between public, private, and academic sectors aimed at fostering innovation in the sports industry. Additionally, Iris has become a partner in a company dedicated to financing sports startups, further enhancing her impact on the sports entrepreneurship ecosystem.

In 2022, she was included in the "Singapore 100 Women in Tech 2023" ranking, highlighting her international influence in the technology and sports sectors. She also serves as an advisor for prestigious events such as the World Football Summit and the Sports Summit.

She launched the Mentoring Program led by 25 female leaders in sports across Asia and the Middle East, which, in its four editions, has supported nearly 100 entrepreneurs.

Her work focuses on pioneering sport technology trends, supporting startups, facilitating scouting for sports entities, and promoting global sports ecosystems through public policy and private initiatives.

•Iris also leads open innovation programs with GSIC, building a solid network of contacts spanning Europe, APAC, and Latin America. Her role as a mentor and jury member in startup competitions, as well as her participation as a speaker in international events related to sports and technology, has further solidified her position as an industry leader.

•Her influence has been widely recognized, including her inclusion in 2018 on the "Top 100 Female Leaders of Spain" list in the Revelation and Entrepreneurs category and as one of the "20 Most Influential Women in the Sports Industry in Spain" according to Metadeporte. Additionally, in 2021 and 2022, she was recognized among the "100 Women Leaders in Spanish Sports" by the newspapers El Español and 20minutos. In 2021, she received the "Exceptional Women of Excellence" award from the Women Economic Forum.

Her commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation, and female leadership in sports positions her as a key figure in the global development of the industry.
